Although I’m not entirely sure why: there seems to be a general aversion to planting ferns in the garden. Perhaps they are viewed as tender (they’re not), finicky (no). or boring (eye-twitch) when they are one of the most reliable groups of plants we have in our gardening arsenal. If you have a bit of shade and decent soil you can grow most ferns.
